What is CrossFit?

                Check around. Google it. Ask a CFL-1 trainer. Check the CrossFit website. You’ll generally find the same answer everywhere. “CrossFit is constantly varied functional movements performed at relatively high intensity.” So what the heck does that mean? And why should you try it?

            CrossFit is a fitness program built to keep you interested. We utilize a vast array of movements and design workouts in a way that every day is something new. You can’t get bored here. We write a progressive program that strives to not just keep you in shape but carry you forward to make constant improvements in your skills and abilities. We’ll find your strengths and work to improve them. We’ll find your weaknesses and work to eliminate them. We’ll use barbells and pull up bars. We’ll send you out to run and keep you in to row. We’ll make you lay down on the floor and get back up again. We’ll make some days heavy and some days light. You’ll come to expect new and exciting things to happen. You’ll start out with an idea of what you’re capable of and within a few months we’ll convince you your capabilities are only limited by those beliefs. Once you start to trust your coach and accept that you can do so much more, you will.

            Explaining CrossFit is simple and complex at the same time. The downside to any explanation you get is that it won’t give you an understanding of what CrossFit really is. There’s only one way to actually comprehend the concept. You need to try it. That’s why your first class is free. We want you to know what you’re getting into before you decide if it’s a good fit for you. It’s been said so many times by so many athletes and trainers that it’s become cliché, but the hardest part of CrossFit is walking through the door that first time.
